Ralph Hamers joins Arta as external advisor
We’re thrilled to announce that Ralph Hamers, former CEO of UBS and ING, has joined Arta Finance as an external advisor and angel investor. Welcoming a visionary leader like Ralph is a privilege as we drive our global expansion and elevate our platform to new levels of growth and innovation.
Ralph Hamers is a name synonymous with transformation in the financial world. At UBS, he drove record financial results, led the digital overhaul of the company, and helped prepare the acquisition of Credit Suisse. Before UBS, he was at the helm of ING, transforming it into one of the world’s first fully branchless, digitally-driven banks. His leadership consistently embraces innovation, which is why we are so excited to have him guiding us as we build Arta into a global wealth platform for everyone.
This announcement marks more than just a milestone for us - it’s a pivotal step in our mission to open access to elite financial opportunities. Traditionally, private banks serve ultra-high-net-worth individuals, imposing significant asset thresholds that exclude most investors. The Arta wealth platform is designed to change that. By leveraging technology and deep financial expertise, we provide accredited investors access to sophisticated strategies like private equity, venture capital, and intelligent ways of investing in public markets–without the traditional barriers of entry.
Ralph’s unparalleled expertise will play a key role as we expand internationally via Singapore. His experience in scaling global platforms and modernizing private banking systems will be invaluable as we continue to redefine the landscape of wealth management.
As Ralph himself puts it, “A central focus of my leadership has been to take legacy businesses and digitalize, integrating front-to-back technology to drive efficiencies and make the lives of clients and colleagues easier. This often needs major and multi-year transformations in well-established organizations. With Arta, I see the enormous opportunity of having incredibly smart people from the worlds of technology and finance coming together to build a platform that is more than ready to take its place amongst the world’s leading wealth managers”.
Ralph joins a distinguished group of early investors in Arta, which includes Peak XV, Ribbit, Coatue, EDBi and more than 140 technology and finance luminaries such as ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Mastercard CEO Michael Miebach. Together, they’re helping us realize a vision where human expertise meets cutting-edge technology to deliver a new standard in wealth management. With Ralph Hamers on our team, we’re more confident than ever in our ability to scale globally and challenge the traditional and centuries old models of private banking.
Our CEO, Caesar Sengupta, sums it up well: “Ralph’s arrival is a game-changer because he is a game-changer. So it's absolutely fitting that he's here to help us modernize wealth management and help us reach the huge and underserved cohort of professionals, creators, entrepreneurs, builders and next generation business owners that traditional private banks have overlooked. We’re also excited and grateful to have his guidance as we bring cutting edge AI to the world of wealth management.”
Ralph’s investment also reflects the growing momentum behind our platform. In addition to Ralph joining as an external advisor and angel investor, we recently received a strategic investment from EDBI, the investment arm of Singapore’s Economic Development Board, further validating our vision and growth in the region.
